A Message from the Director

Welcome to the Masters of Public Health program! Our mission is to train professionals to apply public health skills and evidence-informed approaches to positively contribute to health, health equity, and quality of life of people and populations at the local, national, and global levels. We achieve this through a comprehensive curriculum, dynamic and inclusive collaborations, and tailored practice-based experiences.

Our program is unique in such a way that allows students to receive support from both the MPH program and their respective concentrations. Our faculty, staff, and students are passionate in their work. We are proud to be a part of the University of Florida, a top 5 public university in the US. The city of Gainesville, where UF is located, is rich with cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities; and it’s central to many popular Florida attractions that are just a couple of hours away! Our partnerships with alumni, community members, and community organizations within the surrounding community and nationwide bring exceptional practice-based opportunities for our students as they pursue their professional goals.

As for me, I am a born and raised Gainesville native, and earned three of my four degrees from the University of Florida. I did leave the state for several years, and then came back here to Gainesville. What can I say? I love this town. I love our university. And I am passionate about Public Health.

We offer several program options, including on-campus or online, combination degrees, and an accelerated option for working professionals. We also have graduate certificate options. Explore to determine which program and which of our six concentrations is the right one for you.

Let us be part of your journey!
